Welcome to Ad Hoc Radio
If your tastes in music, like ours, run to the eclectic, we hope you'll enjoy what it is you're about to hear.
We are Listener Approved Radio.
What does that mean? So long as we hear nothing to the contrary, we plan on streaming for as long as we can afford it. It's sorta like consent by silence. Plus, we kinda like it as a tagline.
The site is a work-in-progress and may look a little different when next you return. Perhaps the header will change, or maybe the font will look different. We're really not too sure how we feel about the colour of the links at the top of the page. Really, brown on green? That might change.
The Listen link has a number of different player options available. If you can listen via broadband, 128kb will sound great. If you're behind a firewall or want to stream to your phone, then the 32kb AAC+ streams are an excellent compromise between quality and your data plan usage. Just click on the one that works best for you.
Now Playing should be pretty self-explanatory. It will show you what's currently playing, the last five songs played and what's about to be played.
If you're into that sort of thing, the Artist Bios link contains approximately 60% of the artists we have. There's still work to do there.
The Browse Albums link will display a grid of sixteen album covers. Clicking on the image will take you to a track listing page. Clicking on the artists's name will take you to their bio page.
Click on the Schedule link to check out what sort of songs you can expect to hear at various times during the week.
NEWS: The Request link now works! Once you click on the link for a song you'd like to hear, it will allow you to enter your name, who you'd like to dedicate it to, their relationship to you and an area to type a special dedication. We'll then insert your request, along with a shout-out, into the rotation on our Sunday request show at 3pm.
The Register and Login links at the top of the page don't do a heckuva lot right now - but they may in future. They may not be here next time you visit. Or, they may allow you to register to enter comments or something. We're still undecided about the direction we should take the site.
But enough about that.
Wander around the site and, if you like what you hear, tell your friends to drop by for a listen.
Thanks for visiting.
